Looking for a good but affordable hotel in Phoenix, Arizona?

Question

Last time I went to Phoenix, I stayed in the Marriott In the Buttes. But I have looked up the prices and actually, I don't really want to spend such a huge amount of money and rather spend that in one of the outlet stores on the road. But that hotel was soooo beautiful, especially the pool area and all the palms and cactus around. So, actually I am looking for something similar but definitely not that expensive. Should be good quality though. So, no bedbugs-that's what I mean. :-)

Update:

Mission Palms has no rooms available at the time we will be there. I should admit that our visit will be from 01st May until 03rd May.

Right in Tempe I'd highly recommend the Candlewood Suites that's located at 1335 West Baseline Road (just a 1/4 mile east of S. Priest Drive). All rooms are suites that do include a micro, stove, kitchen items, fridge, and 37" flat screen HD TV. Easy walk (8 min) to the Tempe AZ Mills Outlet Mall. Also has small outdoor pool and a hot tub..

If you stayed at the Buttes you were really in Tempe. I recommend Mission Palms. It's near "A" Mountain, has a rooftop pool and a stone's throw from Mill Ave, which has lots of palms.

Hotel Indigo in old town Scottsdale was really new and nice when I stayed there in late 2010. Affordable and great area too, check it out!
