Does eye color affect eye function?

Question

So I understand that people from different parts of the world have different color skin because of the different amounts of sunlight we would historically have been exposed to but I am wondering about eye color... It seems to me (and I'm not trying to sound racist) that most races other than whites seem to predominantly have brown eyes, I know there are plenty of exceptions but I mean more often than not. I am wondering if this is just another one of those inexplicable things or if it really matters at all? Do different colors of eyes actually see better/worse? Is there any developmental reason for this or is it simply a random aesthetic development?

Different eye colouring is a recognised  fact... there is nothing "racist" about it !! Vision is a subjective ability of the individual , it has nothing to do with physical attributes. Some people who have lost their eyes are still able to see. Granted this is a rarity but it does indicate that sight is not confined to the physical organs.
