GREEK add on ERT tv... wanted one sheppeard for ITAHKI,to curb 7,000 wild goats &sheep..?

I did not see or hear that specific announcement.

All I can imagine about it, is that on many of our smaller islands, especially the uninhabited ones, goats and sheep are taken to graze during the summer period.

Ithaki is a rather bigger island and certainly in not uninhabited. Goats, as you surely know, have the tendency to climb to the most precipitous places, thus creating land and rock slides that can be dangerous to any passers on roads close by.

On the north part of the island two such roads are on either side of small mountain that has rather steep slopes. So, the Mayor in order to safeguard from possible accidents has come up with that plan.

As you can understand, this is an educated guess of what may or may not be his motive.

The question that needs solving is why ear-tagged animals, which means they belong to someone, will have to be shepherded by someone else and not the rightful owners?

According to the very famous saying : LEFTA YPARXOYN,....LOL.........DOULIES YPARXOYN .People willing to do them is the problem. And from now on, that will be the kind of jobs people will have to turn to. Agriculture and stock feeding.
