do christian follow the ten commandments?
1: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'
2: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
3: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
4: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
5: 'Honor your father and your mother.'
6: 'You shall not murder.'
7: 'You shall not commit adultery.'
8: 'You shall not steal.'
9: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
10: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'
"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…
Jesus(Peace be upon him) was also reported in the Gospel according to Matthew 19:16-17, to have made obedience to the divine laws the key to paradise: “16 Now behold, one came and said to him,“Good teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17So he said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”(Matthew 19:16-17)
In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus stated: “17 Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the [way of] the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18For, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished
However, Paul, who claimed to be a disciple of Jesus, systematically cancelled the laws. In his letter to the Romans, chapter 7:6, he stated, “But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.” (Romans 7:6)
Also in Matthew 5:19, Jesus Christ(Peace be upon him) was reported to have insisted on strict obedience to the commandments saying, “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19)
(Matthew15:9)(KJV) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. See also Mark 7:7
This was the religion conveyed in the message of Jesus(Peace be upon him); submission to the will of the one true God by obedience to His commandments. Jesus(Peace be upon him) stressed to his followers that his mission did not cancel the laws received by Prophet Moses(Peace be upon him). As the prophets who came after Moses maintained the law, so did Jesus.
Whom should we believe--Jesus or Paul?

Jesus said if you Love keep my commandments. We are all sinners, if we Love God and want to keep The Ten Commandments by wanting to do whats is right, God will forgive us when we make mistakes if we come humbly and ask for his forgiveness.

We follow Jesus and His teaching, specifically Matthew 22:37-40.
Matthew 22:37-40
New International Version (NIV)
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The Apostle Paul preached Christ and Him crucified. He was personally taught by the risen Christ.

We arn't under the law anymore but the work of the holy spirit in our lives helps us keep them naturally.
Can you keep the 10 commandments 100% of the time all the time? So, have you ever lied or steal something or break any of these commandments once in your life? Only Jesus kept them perfectly. This is why we need a savior.
The cross is just a symbol - its not worshipped so its not breaking the 2nd commandment. Its talking about idols here.

The Law and the Prophets do not control the life of a Christian. Jesus gave us 2 commandments we are to follow, and we can't really even follow them because we are still imperfect sinful human beings. He said to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, strength, soul and mind. He said Love you neighbor as yourself.
Seriously, nobody can even follow those two without stumbling. You think we're going to follow more specific rules under our own power?
The law was put there to show us we NEED a savior, because none of us is good enough in our own power. The Bible says ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Instead of turning your brain in circles trying to figure out how to follow the law, follow the One who wrote the law, Jesus Christ. It truly is who you know, not what you know, that is the key.

1. You ignore the fact that the old covenant law was just that; a covenant, and as such, it had parties to it; God and the Israelites of old. Christians are not a party to that covenant, and this is what Paul explains there in Romans 7 that you cite in part.
2. You avail yourself of classic "proof-texting" ignoring the context of what you cite. For example, Matthew chapter 5 and "these" commandments, where you ASSUME the reference is to the old covenant commandments instead of what the context shows; that "these" commandments are the commandments He proceeds to give His followers, where He alters and even negates points of old covenant law. You cite v.v. 17-18, altering Scripture regarding the prophets (there are no laws codified in the prophets) and again ignore the context where later Jesus alters points of that law way beyond "iotas" and "dots".
Truth should not have to rely on such underhanded and deceptive practices such as you proffer here.
But a false belief system, and false representatives of God would not hesitate to do so.

If we love God we will.
There are many who do not and do not want to and will often say it was Old Covenant only while neglecting to say that God wrote His law on our hearts in the New Covenant because the people would not obey it. http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/does_the_new_c...
Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5 that we are not only to obey it but teach it and scripture does not lie and the law did not change by a jot or tittle as Jesus promised despite the lies from the deceived. http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/jesus_fulfille...

Thou shall have no other gods before me.
Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that
is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shall not take the name of the lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him
guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which
the Lord thy God giveth thee.
Thou shall no kill.
Thou shall not commit adultery.
Thou shall not steal.
Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife,
nor his man servant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ***, nor any thing that is thy
neighbor's.

Yes I do because they can be summed up in this....
"29 Jesus answered: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, 30 and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
NOW IN CONTEXT
Mark 12:24 Jesus said to them: “Is not this why YOU are mistaken, YOUR not knowing either the Scriptures or the power of God? 25 For when they rise from the dead, neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but are as angels in the heavens. 26 But concerning the dead, that they are raised up, did YOU not read in the book of Moses, in the account about the thornbush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob’? 27 He is a God, not of the dead, but of the living. YOU are much mistaken.”
28 Now one of the scribes that had come up and heard them disputing, knowing that he had answered them in a fine way, asked him: “Which commandment is first of all?” 29 Jesus answered: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, 30 and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 The scribe said to him: “Teacher, you well said in line with truth, ‘He is One, and there is no other than He’; 33 and this loving him with one’s whole heart and with one’s whole understanding and with one’s whole strength and this loving one’s neighbor as oneself is worth far more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 At this Jesus, discerning he had answered intelligently, said to him: “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But nobody had the courage anymore to question him. They certainly don't follow the second. Show me a christian who doesn't have a symbol of Jesus on the cross. Most girls wear him on jewelry.
