Which time do you use when you write a log?

I have to write a log in a table form but don't know which time I have to use. Hope someone of you can help me.

But that is not what I mean. I am talking about simple present, present perfect....

    It doesn't matter, so long as you're consistent and say which time you're using. Use a 24-hour clock, though.

    If you were in California, it would be 15-January-2012 07:48 PST
