The Department of Work and Pensions website will give you all the figures, but there are so many additions and deductions that you'll only get a true figure by registering for one of the benefits.

Job Seekers Allowance you mean? This is the general benefit for those seeking employment that are able to work (such as not disabled... They're very strict on the 'not able to work' criteria)... If so, if you're under 25 years of age it's around £55 per week. If you're over 25 then it's around £65 per week, although in both cases you'll be paid fortnightly. You have to 'sign on' once every fortnight where you'll have to attend an appointment at the Job Centre and show evidence of what you've done to find work. If you haven't bothered or met the criteria set personally for you then they'll stop your benefits.

After 6 months *I think* they'll put you on weekly signings and you'll still be given money fortnightly.

They'll also then put you on 'courses' that you have to attend to get your money. These courses can be from once a week learning CV writing skills and interview techniques to daily picking up rubbish in the community!

'courses' like this will continue until you've signed off and are in work.

There is no such thing as unemployment benefit and there has not been for many years. You probably want to know about jobseekers allowance.
