I think my one year old daughter may have overdosed on tylenol? ?
My daughter has an ear infection and about an hour ago, I gave her some tylenol like her doctor said to give her when she started getting feverish and fussy. I closed the lid and sat it on a table and took her to get a bath. A few minutes ago noticed she had the tylenol bottle and was sucking on it. Somehow she got the lid off( with her teeth maybe?) I'm not sure how much if any was ingested. It was a new bottle and she only had the one dose. The bottle is still pretty full...right above the top of the label. What should I do? Should I take her to the hospital or wait and see if she actually ingested any more?

I'd ask the local poison control center they'd know more. They've helped me pretty well in all the strange calls they got from me. (My son peed in his mouth during a diaper change, eating tile the dog scratched up...dog poop....) um anyway call them....

i agree with the others. It's better to be safe than sorry, esp. with tylenol since it can cause lvier damage.
Based on what you describe, it doesn't sound like she did overdose. She might've taken in a tiny bit more than she should've. But not enough to actually cause liver damage. The margin of error is actually much more than the manufacturers would like us to believe...but they have these strict regulations bc if it is abused, it can cause liver damage. These cases of liver damage caused by tylenol are usually people abusing tylenol or a huge overdose (like the whole bottle). But bc she's o little, and can't talk yet or tell you how she feels, it's better to be safe than sorry and take her to e.r. Like another user said, better be safe than sorry.

If it was a new bottle and she took one dose, count the pills that are left to see how many are missing, then you can tell Poison control exactly how many she took.

to no longer scare you yet, take her to the medical institution and contact the poison administration center, she will die from this. additionally see is you will come across out what share she might have eaten. additionally that's a sturdy concept to yet all the medicine someplace out of her attain or in a closet/drawer that lock. sturdy success!

I think it's worth playing it safe and getting hold of a doctor. Hope it's all fine.
