The best way to relay information without offending is to used the POS, POS, NEG, POS formula sandwich. Basically, to make 2 affirmations, then follow up with what you want to say, and lastly end with a positive note.

Remember, to persuade someone, they have to think your goals are aligned. Just arguing that they are wrong, will only frustrate you both.

Just don't respond. You can't force someone to keep in touch if they don't want to. and if you really do, maybe by ignoring it, it will bother them.
