No it sucks mule @ss. The engage in all sorts of rhetorical fisticuffs, but the end result is always the same.

This could not be highlighted any better than it has been with the last four administrations.

I agree that the two parties are completely different in philosophy. We need more major parties in a coalition form of government. That is the only way to let in other ideas and force parties to work together. The way it is now, no work gets done except when Congress member talk on TV. They never discuss or debate anything. The chamber is empty. They go their to pick up their checks and cast a vote. They have staff of 50 people each and fly around on private planes reserved by the State Dept and paid for by taxpayers. They earn 187,000 a year and work 1/3 of the year. They get perks and gifts from lobbyists who work for various industries. They represent business interests not the people.

It is a farce to have a Congress. It should be reduced by half. Less chance of corruption. They put more effort into their process of approaching a problem than actually working at doing anything.

Identical platforms isnt exactly right, but I understand what your trying to say. And I think it sucks even if Ron Paul was elected it really wouldn't be any different. I guess that's why they have checks and balances, if you want real change in a certain direction you need to have nearly 100% power in executive, judicial and congressional houses. We've seen what has happened with 58 percent of house and senate and that leads to stalemate bc of the fillabuster

Our 2 Party system is bad, because you really can only pick between 2 people. I really think that if we have parties, there should be at least a 5 party system, that way it would spread out the votes, and see who people actually want, instead of just voting the party line.

Identical Platforms? The two parties are more opposed than ever before.

I think that's a false premise. There are MAJOR differences between the parties. Perhaps neither suits your needs, but that does not make them even remotely "identical"

Both parties have been bought by the same big money so you get the same result no matter who you vote for.

I feel that that is not actually true. In fact, I know that there are numerous other parties.

    It's retarded. That's why I left.

The amazing thing is that there are still people who believe in the two parties.
