How do I get my SNES working on my HDTV?

I have a Toshiba 40BV801B TV and I want to hook a SNES to it. It has an aerial input and I've hooked it up to the TV via this. Unfortunately there's no picture coming through. Can anyone advise me?

    I also have a SNES and when first setting it up thought there was something wrong but it just needed me to tune in an available tv station.

    If you've already done that then I don't know what could be wrong, sorry.
