Shouldn't Democrats be defending Cain in this latest smear campaign?

After all, it's only about sex, right?

Besides the fact that it is a baseless accusation based on innuendo and rumor.

I (liberal, democrat-leaning) actually think it should be left alone, or at most be left to the parties involved. Not because I think sexual harassment is OK, but because I think that, if Cain is going to lose, it should be because we've decided he's going to be a bad president, not because we've decided he's a jerk. There are plenty of jerks holding high positions, both in government and in private society, and only a fraction of them have their misdeeds revealed to the public like this. I think it's kind of hypocritical to smear a politician on something relatively minor like this (assuming it was actually something minor) while pretending that everyone on your side is a saint.

I don't see why anyone would defend this fool, but it seems that "baseless accusations based on innuendo and rumor" were enough for the right wing to spend $40 million investigating Bill Clinton. You conservatives are just such loathsome hypocrites! And no, sexual harasment IS NOT just about sex, but then I wouldn't expect the simple conservative mind to understand that.

No. Democrats always get demonized for their sexual meanderings while Republicans get away with a slap on the wrist. For example, Anthony Wiener tweeted his crotch and was strongly encouraged to resign. David Vitter apologized for cheating on his wife with prostitutes and is still a sitting Senator. Bill Clinton tried to cover up an affair and was impeached. Newt Gingrich cheated on his cancer-riddled wife during that impeachment and is now being considered for the Republican nomination to the presidency.

I haven't seen any democrats jumping on him about it. The allegations did not come from democrats. The allegations came from Republican opponents. All Republicans should be defending him.

I am not affiliated with either party. I don't think that baseless allegations should be held against anyone.

You mean the Republican planned smear campaign.

Democrats didn't start this campaign, we just love to point out your hypocrisy.

You owe Bill a formal apology.

You mean because they defended Clinton over his sex scandal--and there was actual proof of sexual activity in that case--not just accusations that have been found baseless? Nah! That would make Democrats not hypocrites--and we know they are.

See what I mean? "I haven't seen any Democrats jumping on him......" Where's he been looking?

Its seems to me that in modern american politics, nobility is simply not an option to these politicians and the bias media that runs behind them, only moderate centrist democrat's would even think to do such a thing, if the truth comes out that it is false the liberal blogs and media will either not address it or downplay it.

Watching the thread on here unfold today, it's clearly being brought up by a majority of conservatives.

Why on earth would they do that? They are not going to try and interfere with any of the gop candidates.
