Wow, top five...this is tough. As of right now these are my favorite top five horror movies.

1. The Descent

2. Alien

3. The Exorcist

4. The Thing

5. Night of the Living Dead

in order my top 5 favorite horror movies are...

1. The Ring

2. The Grudge

3. Dead Silence

4. Silent Hill

5. House of Wax

I loved the stories of all these movies and I couldn't sleep for days after watching them, they still scare me today.

Hard to narrow it down but my faves are The Shining, The Exorcist, The Changeling, Halloween, and a creepy movie called The Other (not the one with Nicole Kidman) from 1972.

Granted Ive seen them all a billion times and so they no longer scare me, but those are my faves. Not much new impresses me.

Runner up: The Others WITH Nicole Kidman

Dawn of the dead remake and walking dead(like a series ,a 1hour long sho on amc) the grudge insidious the ring

These are my favorite in no particular order:

Jaws...being trapped in the middle of the ocean trying to kill a shark, scary as hell.

Nightmare on Elm Street....trying not to fall asleep knowing that a psycho will kill you in your sleep, scary as hell.

Alien...trapped in space with an alien and no where to go....scary as hell.

Child's Play....psychotic toy doll kills, and no one believes you....scary as hell.

The Shining....trapped in a hotel in the middle of no where and father trying to kill you....scary as hell.
