Having some trouble with malware?

Question

I've been trying to get rid of malware. No matter how many times I scan with Malwarebytes, it still picks something up on the quick scan most the time. I just did another quick scan and nothing got picked up, but it's still blocking things from ping.exe, chrome.exe, and iexplorer.exe ever few minutes. It says they're trying to access a malicious site, gives me the IP, and tells me which .exe is doing it. Any suggestions? Is reformatting the way to go?

I also have Stopzilla if that means anything.

Get rid of StopZilla its worthless.....

1st > turn off system restore and leave it off until you get back to back clean scans with MBAM...the virus is using system restore to recycle on the computer............

Try booting into safe mode and running malware bytes again (full scan not quick). The bad joo-joo may be hiding in your restore files and just reloads itself after you delete it. You may have to delete all but the most recent restore point or temporarily shut system restore off and then turn it back on after you scan to get it out of there. And yes reformatting would get rid of it, but that should be a last resort unless you have everything backed up already.

Does your PC come with a recovery-reformat disc? (OS reinstall)?

If so, reinstall your system, load it CD/DVD on boot settings, click where you want your designated OS to be installed, select 'FORMAT.' then okay, and it should install.

You should have no problems then, if you don't have it, buy it at Best Buy instead for like 80 bucks, trust me, it will be worth it then buying a thousand pc all over again.

Otherwise, get a mac.
