can anyone answer this please?

If you read those verses in the context of the chapter, you should realize that the key phrase is "so that the Father may be glorified in the son." Jesus was talking about his own impending destiny and that the disciples would be given power to continue on in the ministry after he was gone by asking for it in his name. If it doesn't glorify God, your prayers may not be answered.

I was just thinking about unanswered prayer but it resulted from a failed football game I watched yesterday as my Washington Huskies fell victim to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. No I did not make this game a matter of prayer.

I was thinking about the Huskies head coach and wondered if perhaps he allows himself to preference the welfare of a player who might not be doing so well, rather than think of the whole team and put someone else in their who might do better.

And God spoke to me and said that He thinks for the entire body of the church rather as well as thinking of that one person. So that answers to prayer do not happen the way they do. It is according to God's will and purpose for that person now.

But that being said one can have more answers to prayer as one draws closer to God in fellowship and depending on God. When one has complete faith in God one can see answers to prayer. BUT. There is nothing wrong with going for help whether doctors or lawyers or advisers etc. Use these as well for God will use these as answers too. Do not limit God for an answer and have faith. Trust in God by delivering or giving your own problems to God as well as doing action too, and God will intervene.

This has been my practical experience in life. And do take the advice of other believers as well who answer this great question.

God knows things that you can't imagine cause he created us all and all these things, so when you ask God for something sometimes, maybe its not good for you and you think its good, I was immature and I used to pray to God he help me with a girl I used to like, but then I found out its just a stupid girl and it doesn't worth crap. all that time I thought God don't wanna help me cause I am asking for something stupid (which is something stupid for someone in my age...), but then I found out its not only stupid, its something that is not good for me, I found out many things I hate. and sometimes if you are in pain and stuff like that, God tests you, if you keep on worshiping him and never give up he might make you feel better, and if you just pray like 2 or 3 times and then you start moaning and say God in not real, God doesn't love me, etc. then of course he wont make you feel better cause you failed in the test, you need to be patient. hope this helped you! peace.

I recognize...it is choosy of me, sorry. o.o But this manner I come to be pointing my fanatics and contacts to the *well stuff* you realize? ^__^ Or no less than I attempt to. But have a celeb besides only for being sufferer and information. ^_^

because not everything we ask for doesn't glorify the father in the son.. basically it means that there are limits as to what we can ask for,... though I do not know what glorified in the son means..

God answers your prayers. Just not maybe the way you think is best.

God knows what is best for you and knows what you need, when you need it, and how you need it. He will not give you anything more than you can bear.

Whatever you ask in my name pertains to

God's Will. So whatever you ask in accord

with Gods Will shall be answered.

But any prayer not in accord wont be.

Like materialistic riches.

I've got the same problem. But the Bible also says that you have to be persistent. If you do what the Bible tells you, then when you finally meet your maker, you will certainly have a good beef to present.

I don't think that I understand your question correctly?

Either you are not following the instructions aright or otherwise, that formula doesn't work.
