If you pray for something and you get it is it from God?

If I pray for god to let me score with a chick I met at a bar and I succeed......Does that mean god answered my prayers, which involved me sinning?

If what you received was a good thing in God's eyes then it was from Him.

Someone without faith could say "Well, it would have happened anyway" but that's human arrogance that denies the supernatural influences of God on His creation.

Someone gave the example of saving for a car. Sure, the person saving for the car did their due diligence to bring about what they wanted but God could easily make it so that their savings plan went awry with some emergencies that they didn't count on. Or God could help them to save by giving them self control in their spending and perhaps an unexpected financial windfall.

That's the difference between faith in a personal God and either thinking that there is no God or if there is a God, then He doesn't really interact with the creatures that He has made.

Whether it came directly from the devil because you steal it, it still came from God because even the devil got his power from God.

There is nothing you can claim as your own except your sin.

You pray for something you need, it will never be given to you directly but you will be given the mind to find the source and resource, the hand and feet to look, search and work for it and if you are lucky some one near you may just hand it down to you.

Many people pray for many things every day. Statistically some of those people are going to get the things they pray for.

It depends. If what you are praying for will help you on your walk with God, sure you'll get it. If it is for selfish reasons what you ask for, then don't count on it.

Prayer studies show that prayer doesn't help sick people recover. If you give god credit for everything good, and no blame for the bad, he cannot lose.
