How long should a message of congratulations be for a wedding?

Friends of mine are getting married and, as it will be a very small family only occasion, have requested friends send message of congratulations. How long should such a message be?

As long or short as you see fit.  Short, however, tends to make the bridal couple happier and you sound a lot less stupid if you go on and on and on and on.

"Connie!  George!  Wow!  It is so GREAT to know that you both will be sharing your lives together for the rest of your lives!  You've always been terrific together.  May your life together bring happiness, joy, peace, and that you love and support each other with every passing day."
