Am I the only freshman who loves heavy metal?
i go to freshman orientation and a dude says "if you listen to heavy metal stand up" so me and like one other kid stood up. the same dude says "if you like rap stand up", 98% of the entire freshman class stood up. My question is, am i the only high-schooler who likes metal? all of it, Dragonforce, Disturbed, Godsmack, etc. as long as its Metal

I went to a ghetto school. I know how you feel. Stand your grown, and find the Seniors who also listen to metal. They'll pick on you, but think of it as earning your metal strips.
It was the same at my Freshmen orientation, but like 40% of the Seniors where metalheads. Somewhere in high school the taste in musc changes.
So here's one last bit of advise.

They come up to you trying to flow, start rapping Cowboys From Hell, by Pantera. You not only have proven to them anyone can rap, you also prove Metal lyrics are 50 times more brutal than rap will ever be.
When I was in high school I had a real good Hard Rock, voice and could sing TNT, just like Bon Scott. I couldn't do the screaming stuff, but I could rap easily. So if the song was fast pace enough I'd rap lyrics 10 times more brutal then they could expect.
Think of what happens if a ghetto boy heard Slayer's "Disciple". Yeah they clam to be so hard core, but cower at anyone who openly "disses" God. Mention the frais "Praise Satan" they'll think you have super natural powers of evil. The only rap fans you'll get any trouble from, are that easy to puppet.

Oh dear, this is an interesting way to ask the usual "Am I weird because I listen to heavy metal?" question. I've been listening to metal since I was 13, and my thoughts are that you don't truly like ALL metal, just the popular portion. Because then you would have known that the metal community is overpopulated with youth elitists. I feel terrible for your freshman class.
