seriously why do people hate slipknot?

Question

okey now i know some of the anwsers already.
but al the reasons i have heard are stupid, for example:
there are too many band members (why does that make it any worse?? i know sometimes it looks like some of the members do nothing on stage but they really do lol :P)
they are too mainstream (listen to some of their older stuff thats totaly NOT mainstream)
they are nu - metal (sure you can classifie them as nu - metal but there style is so much diffrent from any other nu - metal band because they also put some trash, groove and other stuff in their songs too.
they wear masks.


but i feel thats not the real reason why they are hated because there are so many people that randomly bash this band these days, is because they are jealous of slipknot because they feel they dont deserve their popularity??

can a reasonable person pleaser anwser my question, and if you dont like slipknot please tell me a good reason that doesnt involve any of these anwsers i wrote above i would like some serious feedback. at least try :P

1. It's ruining the image of Heavy Metal, since it's pretty much the only band anyone knows besides Metallica.
2. The gimmicky masks and pentagrams, while they're actually religious. Same reason I hate shock rock.
3. They are -very- mainstream and their targeted audience seems to be 8-13. No respectable metal band only caters to young children.
4. Indeed, they do put trash into their songs, but I don't see how that makes them any better. Nor do they have any groove or thrash influences.

But the biggest reason of hating them for me is their fan base. It's a bunch of people that are mostly around the age of 13 that go around acting like they're bad *** for liking Slipknot. And they, for some reason, dress like emo kids and wear fishnets around their arms.

1. Idiotic fan base
2. People think that all Heavy Metal is like Slipknot
3. Commercializing Heavy Metal
4. They don't deserve all the fame compared to other metal bands
5. I know I already mentioned this, but their ******* fan base. Like seriously.

I love slipknot, And to be honest, It's sounds like the only reason you don't understand why people hate them, Is because you, Yourself don't know almost anything about the band.

1. Simple, Slipknot really does not make as much money as people think they do, The haters know this...The only people in that band truly living a 'Rockstar Life' are Corey, Jim, Joey, and Clown. 9 way split, And having to buy new equipment, The guy's that don't have much els, Are not going to get paid ****, Yeah Sid has his Dj stuff, Sid does pot, In all honesty he has no money. Yeah Mick, Chris, and Craig are all in other bands, Understand the interviews, The say their not living the high life. The hater's are going to take advantage of this, Calling them poor, Their also one of the only larger bands to make it, and last 10 years.

2. I truly don't know what you consider mainstream, Slipknot has sold MILLIONS of copies of each album, Headlined download, And have sold BILLIONS of downloads on iTunes, Their mainstream weather you wan't to hear that or not, It's the truth.

3. Nu-Metal, If it's not just 'Metal' people are going to hate on it.

4. The band member's hate those damn thing's, And if they hate them, Other people can to.

The reason they are hated, Are because of people like you, You expect slipknot to be some type of 'God' band, With no haters. And when they do get haters, You have a pure ***** fit. Face it, Slipknot gets hate just like everything els.

I answered your question, Weather you wan't to hear this or not, You have to understand whats wrong with a band, Before you can like it. Stay SIC bro, Maggot for life.

I wouldn't say I hate slipknot, but I would say I hate their music. In my opinion, I think the whole mask thing is stupid, although I shouldn't really have a point of view on that considering I don't know the purpose of them.

I personally love Slipknot. Maybe people hate them because their a metal band that's out there when all the others stay underground other reasons I'm not sure.

Personally I like Slipknot. 
i don't know but maybe people don't know why they don't like them. i know that is not a very good answer but hey i know i am that way with some bands

oh and to the person who wrote its because of the name. as far as that goes its basically a noose and those were use to hang all sorts of people
