Why is my 2.4 GHz computer with all free disk space running so slow?

When i right click on Computer it shows me my processor is which is 2.4 Ghz intel pentium, When i right click on Local Disk to run Disk cleanup my free space is 3/4 the pie chart, and it has 256 MB of RAM

    You don't have enough RAM in your computer.

    You need at least 1Gig Ram if you are running XP, and 2Gig for Win 7, and yes it will cost you money, but the prices have fallen a lot, so find quotes first before buying your RAM. :)
