NASCAR fines for drivers and owners?

Question

Instead of NASCAR fining drivers or owners for infractions (because money means nothing to them) why not make the driver start at the tail end of the next race regardless of where he qualifies.

I think instead of a fine for infractions,they should be suspended a race.That would get their attention.

I don't suppose that is a bad idea, but good drivers with good cars can relatively easily make it to the front, regardless of where they start. The "worst" punishment for drivers and teams would have to be docked points, especially with the new point system. I agree with the whole money thing: they are making huge amounts of money each weekend, so much that 150+ grand here and there won't hurt them at all.

the money doesn't go to NASCAR. It goes to charitable events. So, I agree with the other person. Keep  charging them.

I say do both. If the punishment is more severe then maybe they will think before they do something stupid.
