can chiggers be brought into the house to then get on you at nite ? some times called red bugs !! and if so how to get rid of them,, you can only see them when they eat and turn red a very little dot, but do they itch !!

chiggers need skin, not fur like fleas do, so if they hitched a ride on your dog it would mostly be on his pads between his toes, where they would most likely stay, but i think its more likly you picked them up during the day and they just started attacking at night since they are more nocturnal. I once had them at camp, we put clear nail polish over them to suficate them. A long bath may also drown them out.

Yes, they certainly can! And you are right, they REALLY itch! Not sure how to get rid of them, though. Maybe ask your doctor or vet.
