How much for a good bottle of wine?

$10, I have paid as little as 10 bucks for a good wine. Great wines could be many times this amount.

Some poor wines cost a lot of money, some good wines are inexpensive...Depends where you live as to your choice..some countries add extra tax to wines produced in other countries, some only sell their own country`s produce..if you have a decent choice Chilean or Australian wines are good and not too expensive..depending on vintner and grape variety of course a Cabernet Sauvignon or Shiraz, or Shiraz/Cab Sav or Grenache are a good bet..if you can`t get those..French is usually more expensive, and unless you pay a lot, not much better German wines are generally white and sweet although some Rotwein is available..at a cost..Hungarian can be good, Romanian wines are passable, Argentinians are reasonably priced and some are excellent, Italian..so much choice good and bad, cheap and expensive !! South African wines are good too !!

Forget the supermarket and go to an individual wine merchant and ask them to suggest wines to fit your budget. Good wine can cost £35 a bottle - no problem, but there's very pleasant wine for less and specially rare wine for thousands.

near me (midwest US) a diecent bottle of wine starts around $15... but you can find some fairly good stuff for about half that.

if you go for piesporter you should not go wrong and it does not have to be the most expensive thats best.
