Query about driving licence address?
Basically, my stepson spends almost all his time in London, and rents furnished flats on short term leases so he moves usually at least once a year. Would it be legal for him to put our address as his home address on his driving licence so that he wouldn't have to go to the trouble of sending to the DVLA for a new one every few months? I can't see a problem as travellers must put an address on their licenses which they must rarely reside at. Anyone with real knowledge of this and not just guesswork please help.

He doesn't need to send to DVLA. It is now possible to update an address online without sending the old licence off. They will issue a new one free of charge.

He must keep DVLA appraised of his actual address. It's easy to do and costs only a stamp. Sorry if he finds that too much trouble. He must also advise them of any changes of address for his driving licence - THAT bit he can do online.

Only if he can easily and quickly be contacted through your address and you have his address to give to anyone who wants it - like Police. It could cause a problem with his car insurance as most will want the address on the licence to match his address for insurance though.
As the address change can only at the most cost that of a stamp it is hardly any trouble now is it?
