"The game is actually a prank that uses an unexpected, frightening image (normally of Linda Blair from the 1973 film, The Exorcist) associated with screams, as a practical joke delivered onto the "victim." Many videos depicting such players' reactions to the prank have been uploaded to YouTube. The presumed object of the game is to move a blue dot within a path to a red "goal" area without hitting the walls. Towards the end of level three, the player must navigate the dot between increasingly narrow spaces, increasing focus on the monitor and often drawing the person closer to the screen. It is at this point that the scare tactic image and sounds occur. There are many variations to the maze, such as adding a different frightening image to the end of the game."
