Are there many brewerys in Australia?

Hey there,

I lived in Australia for 1 year bartending. The other bartenders and I frequently went to Master classes (cocktail mixology classes), and wine and beer tastings. It was amazing. I have also been beer tasting in Germany and Ireland. I must say Aussie beer stand true blue (a lil aussie humour for you).

There are many private breweries in Australia and they make the boutiques into tourist destination so it's quite convenient to explore. Their beer taste fantastic and you can find all sorts of flavours and styles. Although, there were some that were bland and just tasted like cold. But every countries got a few of those. We like to refer to them as 'American Beer'.

One thing that was cool about Australia was the people who brewed in their homes. I met lots of guys with the hobby of brewing their own beers. It was a big passion for many of them. They'd try to recipes and whatnot and wants us bartender to try them and give them our opinion. I really enjoyed it and was always surprised at their quality in taste and, well everything. They were almost always great tasting and fresh!

OMG YES !!!

There are heaps of breweries here from each state basically having it's local brews to lots of small boutique breweries all over the place.

Most beer is about 5% alcohol and most of them are really good.

EXCEPT Fosters NO-ONE here drinks it.
