My face turned blue. Never has before?

Question

I was out surfing today and I had my spring suit on. I was with my buddies and within an hour, my friend goes, "hey your lips are blue." and I didn't think much of it. Then few minutes later, my face started to turn a lil blue. So I left out the water and took off my suit and as I got warmed up, my color came back. That's never happened before to me. I've been in 40 degree water with a full body suit before and never had that issue. It was 70 degrees today and the water was a lil cold but not freezing. I don't get it. Someone explain?

Maybe you got too cold without realizing it. Its so easy to do without you noticing...so your friend did you a big favour. It also could be a lack of oxygen...will do the same thing?
I for peace of mind would get a check up, best to be safe than sorry.
Also if you are in the sea...your core temp can get cold and you don't notice it till too late! 
Hope this helps....wet or dry suit? You only need to drop temp a little and you can end up with problems.....go careful and enjoy the waves!

While in chilly water its not unusual for your skin color to be a little bluish.   Its your bodies effort to keep the vital organs warm heart, brain.
