Grade eight Algebra...?
I'm tutoring an girl in 8th grade algebra and don't remember what all that includes (basic trig, equations, etc.). I likely have them in my old notes but don't know which ones to take with me since younger students seem to be doing higher level math now, and if I only review/take the notes from 8th grade it might not be enough. Can anyone help me out?

She's most likely taking Algebra I. Equations is definitely there, as well as inequalities, both of which you also learn to graph. You learn exponential growth, you learn how to simplify polynomials, and that's the general idea, though there is a lot more to it, but I just have hazy memory. Basic trig is really not covered until Geometry (which is taken after Algebra I).

z=2 You DO take a step on the two factors. you spot. 7z+a million=18-3 7z+4=18 (added 3 to the two factors) 7z=18-4 (subtracted 4 on the two factors) 7z=14 (18-4=14_) z=2 (devided the two element by 7) and that's it! :) (i'm in 8th grade algebra too!)

This is all very simple, just remember a few key points.
The differentiation of an exponential (e) is simply the function multiplied by the differentiation of it's power.
The differentiation of (ln()) is simply the differentiation of the inner bracket divided by the original.
Integration is the opposite, instead of multiplying (e) by it's differentiated function, just divide the original by its differentiated function. For (ln()), just multiply the original inner bracket value by the differentiation of itself.
Differentiate (sin x) = (cos x)
(cos x) = (-sin x)
(tan x) = (sec x )^2
For Integration, simply read it the other way around.
These are the pure basics your 8th grader needs to learn, just keep a positive attitude and have fun with it ;)
