Ideas on what to get my 16 going on 17 year old niece for her birthday?

How about getting her a Pandora bracelet? If you start if off with just the bracelet and one charm, it's about $60. Then, you can give her a new charm for every special occasion! It's kind of girly but I'm more casual then girly and I love Pandora!!!

WOW! Yes that age my daughter was pretty selective about gifts. To be honest she sounds as though she may have a lot of material THINGS. Money would not be appropriate since you would have zero idea of what/how she'd be spending it! A camera is nice, however if she has a cell phone, phones have become cameras to all teenagers I know. What kind of activities does she enjoy? Movies? Sports? Sure, guys! For example if you know she loves movies, a gift card for $30-$50 would get her and maybe a friend into a movie and give her more $$ for popcorn, candy, etc. I made a beautiful collage for my daughter's graduation party but it would be appropriate for any age, I think. I took photos i had collected throughout her life from babyhood to her current age with and without friends or family. I set it on a sort of timeline and selected the lyrics from her favorite song (which, thank God) was family-friendly, typed the lyrics on my computer and put it directly in the center of the collage. She cried because it meant more to her than money or things.
