Where does it say that God burned people (not in hell)?

It's in Leviticus 10 where 2 of Aaron's sons brought unauthorized incense before the altar of the LORD possibly as a result of being drunk from what the LORD said afterwards.

Leviticus 10:1 Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. 2 So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. 3 And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.' " So Aaron held his peace.

Leviticus 10:8 Then the LORD spoke to Aaron, saying: 9 "Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, 10 that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean, 11 and that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has spoken to them by the hand of Moses."

God did a similar thing when the New Testament church was first getting started

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." 5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.

Acts 5:7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much." 9 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." 10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

God WILL be counted as Holy by His people or He will punish some as a warning to others.

Gotta question this whole aspect of god smiting people for their decisions- what happened to free will? Isnt it pathetic that some people think that this god has the right to attack humans for their decisions? hes massively MIA yet xians grovel in fear?

iN THIS INSTANCE, GOD DELIVERED HIS PEOPLE FROM DEATH BY FIRE:

Daniel 3:22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

3:23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, [and] spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

3:26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, [and] spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come [hither]. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

I gotta go with scientific research involving the effects of drugs on INHIBITION. On the spiritual side though it is fitting that the Lord consume them with fire. We are sacrificed all day long and like sheep have gone astray and God likes how cooked meat smells but every thing needs to be done decently and in order.

Leviticus 10 and they directly knowingly disobeyed God's commands. Having said that. Well, God is 100% holy. Why should He ever be expected to put up with any sin or nonsense whatsoever from His creation? Instead of being amazed that He periodically calls for judgment in the Old Testament, we should be amazed that he ever shows mercy and patience. I mean, think of it, if God was not merciful, even you and I would be zapped the very instant that we'd rebel or sin in any way today.

Martin's story about Aaron is worth clarifying...

In the Bible stories the High Holy Priest Aaron was Moses’ own brother. Only direct descendants of Aaron qualify to become High Priests! Aaron committed the most heinous defiance to “God’s Law” against idolatry by creating an IDOL in the image of a GOLDEN CALF announcing to Israel that this idol God took them out of Egypt! ALL ISRAEL (2,000,000+) got NAKED and had a big orgy dancing in the nude in celebration and devotion to this idol while Moses went to talk for 40 days face to face to God. When he returned he hardly reprimanded Aaron for organizing the BIG ORGY. In the Bible stories the Priests are never punished for anything they do! In this case Moses ordered his family members in the official Priesthood of Israel to slaughter as many Jews as possible for their “sinful” naked behavior before an idol.

Exodus 32:21 (KJV) And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?* (*this is as far as the Jewish Bible writers would go reprimanding the Clergy. You can’t expect any major pronouncement against child abusing Preachers/Priests!)

Exodus 32:25 (KJV) And when Moses saw that THE PEOPLE WERE NAKED; FOR AARON* (*THE HIGH PRIEST OF THE JEWISH GOD, not King Saul -1 Sam 19:24!) had made them NAKED unto their shame among their enemies* (*It was a bogus excuse since in the Bible stories the Israelites were slaves born in Egypt and had no enemies. The Bible was written when the Jews had WELL DEFINED ENEMIES to poke fun at the Jews for their habit of going about naked showing their circumcised penis!):

Exodus 32:27-28 (KJV) And he* (*Moses) said unto them* (*to the Priests of Israel), Thus saith the LORD God of Israel* (*John 3:16), Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and SLAY EVERY MAN HIS BROTHER, AND EVERY MAN HIS COMPANION, AND EVERY MAN HIS NEIGHBOUR. And the children of Levi* (*ONLY members of Moses’ Levi clan qualified to be the Gestapo Priestly police in Israel) did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day ABOUT 3,000 MEN* (*and who knows how many women and children because they were never counted in the Bible stories, They only counted men! The LEVITES were only a 1 in 12 minority in Israel. The Jews let themselves to be slaughtered by the Clergy without any bitching. The Jews are so brainwashed by their own Bible stories that they walked into their recent HOLOCAUST with hardly a moaning!

After Moses ordered the massacre of Jews they began to respect the Clergy. In a show of rage Moses, aka “the Meek” took the tablets with the 10 Commandments that “God” wrote with his OWN FINGER and dashed them against the rocks! Moses had to go up Mount Sinai to get another set of Tablets of the Law. In this Bible story GOD WAS VERY HAPPY TO COMPLY especially when he saw how Moses’ Gestapo/thugs slaughtered ABOUT 3,000 JEWS! God was so excited about Moses that he asked him to step aside for a moment that he was going to exterminate ALL the 2,000,000+ JEWS that Moses was “saving” out of Egypt. Any “salvation” story in the Bible is hardly a joke, but it rakes millions for the Clergy.

Exodus 32:35 (KJV) And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, WHICH AARON MADE* (*it was a “sting” operation to kill some JEWS to teach them the BIG LESSON that the Clergy rules no matter what!).

Just like Moses, the Jewish Clergy and even the Pope NEVER has to say I’m sorry. The Bible writers got real turned on killing Jews in practically all their stories. They were an inspiration to Hitler!

The Jews made the greatest contributions to the world in practically all the fields of science. After thousands of years THEY STILL STICK TOGETHER as a national entity responsible for putting together the BASIC FOUNDATION for the Judeo-Christian-Muslim religion and all of their branches bringing so many wars, pain and suffering into our world. Only time will be the best healer as we all evolve into something more civilized than any “Holy” story!
