Frequent flyers - do you hear other people's loud music from their earbuds when you are on a plane?

I ride the subway here in NYC, and a real problem has developed. Some people play their 'iPod' music so loud in their ear buds that I can hear it from 10 or 15 feet away. Even when the train is moving. Absolutely no exaggeration. Mostly hear the loud percussion, but can also hear all the music.

Is this happening on airplanes? I will be flying a couple of times this year, and wonder how airlines are dealing with this.

I fly around 10 times a year, intentional and domestic. And i never had this problem. Most people on international planes respect the flight. At the end you will be dealing with the same people for 10 hours. And i think people just know it, so they respect everyone. 

I would recommend you take ear plugs if you get annoyed on the train :) it helps

I never notice it on planes. It may have to do with the height popping their eyes. Music may make it that more uncomfortable
