Frequent flyers - do you hear other people's loud music from their earbuds when you are on a plane?

I ride the subway here in NYC, and a real problem has developed.  Some people play their 'iPod' music so loud in their ear buds that I can hear it from 10 or 15 feet away.  Even when the train is moving.  Absolutely no exaggeration.  Mostly hear the loud percussion, but can also hear all the music.

Is this happening on airplanes?  I will be flying a couple of times this year, and wonder how airlines are dealing with this.

I never knew why people would want to damage their ears with loud music. Headphones just makes it worse.

I've never had a problem with loud music on an airplane, ever. Most people either read, sleep or get on their laptops.

I have never encountered this, however.... it would be more likely to happen on a plane with no in-flight-entertainment, for example, short haul budget flights where you have to make your own entertainment.  The noise of the plane may block out the sound of ear buds anyway.

On planes with IFE, most people use that rather than their own iPods and you can't hear anything externally from the headphones they provide on the plane.

stupid little kids. do not do A because they are going to sense your attempting to compete with them and in that variety of difficulty human beings like that would want to develop into aggressive and make issues worse for you in the experience that they sense threatened. If I were you i might want to attend and word what takes position. they'd turn the song off quickly. besides the indisputable fact that in the experience that they don't then have a polite yet agency be conscious with their parents. no longer too polite or you'll look pathetic, no longer too agency or they'd sense threatened and get more desirable aggressive. in the experience that they don't give up for a week or so or issues worsen then knock on their door and BANG...punch the bastard in the face. That'll teach him.

No, but I use noise cancelling headphones when I fly. I not only can't hear other people's earbuds, it drowns out most of the jet engine noise. If you've never tried noise cancelling headphones, they are worth the investment.

In my experience, not really. Most people that seat nearby me always read newspapers/books, get on laptops, or just relax... never loud music.
