You need to install itunes. it's free from apple :http://www.apple.com/itunes/ once done connect your ipod and sync with itunes

I've done this several days ago. Really save time.
Go to iPod-tool.com and download the iPod to PC transfer software called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you backup all your iPod songs and videos.
