If Obama and the UN had just left it to France to run the show in Libya?

The French, actually, had quite a history of fighting wars. They even helped the United States with the War of Independence.

The idea that French people are somehow weak is laughable. The French are actually the ones that pushed the rest of the world to help Libya.

Due to a low birthrate, which had declined during the First World War and the Great Depression, by the time of WW2, France had a severe manpower shortage relative to its total population, which was barely half of Germany's.

As for the Libya missions, I was also surprised to see France taking the lead. Nevertheless, the French have done a great job.
