Which professional camera to buy?
I would like to buy a professional camera before going to holidays in summer to Egypt, India, and Australia in order to make the most perfect photos. (I know you can take awesome photos from ordinary digital cameras as well, but I really want a more advanced one)
Could anyone recommend me any good SLR camera? What's the best one I could get for around £300?
Considering a used one from eBay.

A new professional camera setup will set you back at least £2,000. An SLR camera doesn't have to be a professional camera, neither will it magically give you perfect photographs. You the photographer needs to tell the camera how to take the photograph.
For £300 you could get a very potent used setup, though far from professional.
Canon's EOS 30D with a 17-85mm lens within budget, as is a Nikon D80 woth 18-105mm lens. These are much better to use than your Canon 1100D or Nikon D3100.

What you're looking for is a DSLR. Canon and Nikon do the best DSLRs. Ignore Doctor X. Nikon are on par with Canon, there's no one better than the other.
DSLRs start from around £700 for an entry level one. And it's not just the camera that makes the picture, you'd want good lenses (these can cost up to £1,000 for a good enough one) and you'd have to know how to actually use the camera. Can't just stick it in auto mode like with a point and shoot digital camera.

I recommend Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR. It's a great digital camera.Surely you have many options but I am very pleased by this model.Check out the link below for examples.

A Nikon d40x is a good DSLR to get off of ebay for the price range you listed. Make sure it comes with a lens and is not an AS IS product. Ive purchaced many goodies off ebay so they are safe to go with.

The only pro to the camera is YOU. I'm serious when I say this because even if a person buys the latest and greatest camera but does not utilize it the way it should be, it's pointless.

I would recommend Nikon D3100. It has so many great features such as built in guide mode, HD video recording and many more.

Canon make the best digital cameras. No other brand has the color accuracy and picture quality that Canon has.
So what ever Canon model is in your price range, will be better than any other brand in the same price range.
Consumer magazines and other reviews have proven this consistently over the years, and it is still true today.
