Why didn't WWE do this?

Honestly, because the plan from the beginning was to have Cena beat Miz at Wrestlemania so all the little kids will be happy. The good guy almost always wins the title at Wrestlemania. That's how wrestling is.

Now, what they should have done was what you are suggesting, but with a twist. During the Elimination Chamber match, they could have had The Rock come down and interfere when it was just Cena/Punk/Morrison, leading to Punk once again pinning Cena and going up 4-0 against him. Then, Morrison surprises everyone by beating Punk with some super crazy move, and he goes on to Wrestlemania.

As for Cena, he gets a dream match against The Rock. That would put butts in the seats.

But instead, they burned the "Punk is undefeated Vs. Cena" storyline which they could have used after Wrestlemania, they put up the most predictable main event in Wrestlemania since Hogan Vs. Slaughter, and now they're setting up The Miz for the Sheamus treatment. Back to the midcard with you, kid!

Sometimes I think that this show is booked by monkeys... and then I look over at TNA and see that it could be much, much worse.

Although I am a fan of John Cena and Triple H , I am quite annoyed the WM main events always have Triple H or Cena, I mean look at the facts

WM 20: HBK vs. Benoit vs. Triple H for the WHC

WM 21: Cena vs. JBL for the WWE Title

Batista for Triple H for the WHC

WM 22: Triple H vs. Cena for WWE Title

WM 23: HBK vs. Cena for the WWE Title

WM 24: Cena vs. Triple H vs. Orton for the WWE Title

WM 25: Cena vs. Big Show vs. Edge for the WHC

Orton vs. Triple H for the WWE Title

WM 26: Cena vs. Batista for the WWE title

Only two of those years Triple H wasn't in the main event and he didn't even compete at WM 23 due to injury, you would think Vince could at least not always use his son in law or face of the company every year for the fans but all he cares about is money, yes they are two of the biggest draws but how do you know other wrestlers can't be if you don't give them a chance, Morrison could be and I thought he was going to win the RAW EC, I mean he has the looks, he has the talent, he has amazing athleticism that everyone is impressed by but Vince isn't willing to give anyone else a chance, I remember reading back in 2009 the reason Jeff Hardy lost the WWE title at RR was not because Vince thought he was a screw up, it was because he thought Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H wouldn't have made a good WM match even that doesn't make sense as Orton won the RR so it would've been Hardy vs. Orton

even tho id like 2 c miz/morrison they probly would like to get a bigger draw w/ a main eventer like cena. and in the process put miz over to top tier.

Im sure morrison has his time coming soon. :)

what i dnt get it they switched up and nowhere from miz/orton & punk/cena to miz/cena & punk/orton?? however, the punk vs orton feud is looking good :) really good, better than cena vs miz right now.

part v Taker: I have been given to furnish it to the Deadman. it somewhat is a revenge experience for him or maybe with part's depleted realationship with vicki guereroowhocares?! he remains the heel and the enterprise will choose the Taker HHH v Khali: the sport is the veteran and khali isnt unbeateable. cant see how the enterprise might permit khali win - I recommend WHO somewhat needs to work out that. A champ who won't be in a position to talk? CM Punk v JBL: JBL is a jobber, yet Punk is basically champ because of the fact Mcmahon ought to establish which one in all his elite wrestlers he needs to make champ. yet Punk could win to legitimize his status for the subsequent challenger. Kingston/James v Santino/BP: Santino and BP are short exceeded because of the fact santino(the character) is a pusbag. So its somewhat BP v Kingston. Kingston might win that contest, yet I somewhat have a feeling santino and bp would win on a fluke or monkeybusiness form victory. MVP v Hardy: I dont somewhat watch smackdown...yet i think hardy to be extra gifted, yet mvp is robust. Hardy prob wins. Cena v Batista: oh my god. is this experience somewhat going to be that large or are we going to experience cheated after observing it? hard call - Double DQ possibly.
