How to open ISO files?

you need to burn it to a DVD or CD,

using iso burning software.

In XP/Vista

1. Download and install Infra Recorder, a free and open-source image-burning program.

2. Insert a blank DVD in the drive and select Do nothing or Cancel if an autorun dialog box pops up.

3. Open Infra Recorder and click the 'Write Image' button in the main screen.

4. Select the ISO/image file you want to use, then click 'Open'.

5. In the dialog box, click 'OK'.

1. Right-click on an ISO image and choose 'Burn disc image'.

Technically you don't "open" ISO files since they are images of a CD or computer and not exactly regular files.

1)Burn the ISO file to a CD and then run it from the CD.

2)Use a virtual CD driver program, I use PowerISO myself, and then mount the ISO image onto a virtual drive to run the ISO file.

You don't open ISO files. They're an image file (like a snapshot) of the contents of a CDROM disk. You need a utility that takes the ISO file and uses it to burn a disk, like NERO. If you go to downloads.com you'll probably be able to find a free program that does this too.

These are created so that a company doesn't need to mail you a CD disk. You can just log onto their web site and download the CD image and use the image to burn your own disk.

An ISO file is an operating system file it is used to install an operating system once it is on a disk.

Mount the ISO with Damon Tools Lite.
