Milk and my 1 year old?
I am all for getting rid of bottles when my daughter reaches a year old but my concern is that she wont take enough fluids in the day with out them.
She currently drinks around 16 fl oz a day of milk from her bottles and only 4/5 fl oz a day of water from her sippy. I plan to firstly take away all day time bottles of milk leaving just her night time milk bottle as this is part of her bed time routine, or would you suggest getting rid of them all in 1 go?
Did your LO start drinking more from a sippy once the bottles were removed?
I will offer smaller drinks of milk with a snack or meal in her sippy, does this sound ok?
I don't think I'll have a problem getting rid of the bottle as they are not a comfort thing for her, it more the ease for her to drink from. Also she has her milk bottle then we brush her teeth then to bed as her bet time routine so I'm not worried about milk rot.

My daughter is 16 months old.. and we started weaning her from the bottle... with taking daytime bottles away, and just recently took the nighttime bottle away. She always depended on it to go to sleep... but she has done wonderful without it. I just give her a sippy of milk before bed to get her belly full. And she still gets plenty of fluids during the day, also. I just keep a cup of water or milk or juice for her to sip on while she is playing. Good luck :)

Maybe you could switch it out. Put water in the bottle and milk in the sippy cup. Especially if you plan to still use the bottle at night. It's better for her teeth. Plus, it will get her drinking from the sippy cup more than the bottle.

Don't be hard and fast about the one year deadline....slowly take away the daytime bottle...allow her to have a night time bottle WITH ONLY WATER IN IT MILK AT BEDTIME WILL ROT HER TEETH !!!!!!!!!!! But it is so comforting to have the night time water bottle
