Why is pregnancy no longer possible when menopause occurs?

Menopause is when the woman's ovaries shut down and stop producing eggs. If there's no egg,there's no way for fertilization/pregnancy to happen.

I am guessing because:

With menopause you stop having your period...

Your period is when the endometrium (the lining of your womb or uterus) breaks down because your eggs haven't been fertilised, so your body knows that it doesn't need that lining.

(it is all in a hormonal cycle of oestrogen and progesterone, it builds up and breaks down) <-- which is your monthly cycle.

Anyway, because you stop having your period, it is apparent that you don't have that build up of cells etc in the womb, which is what an egg needs to nestle in, attach itself to the uterus wall and start "growing" or getting its nutrition etc.

So yeah, pretty much your hormones start lessening I think, so the body isn't telling the womb to prepare for babies (buy building up the endometrium)

simple because when menapause occurs its when the woman stops ovulating meaning if she cant ovulate she cant fall pregnant
