bros, in your opinion, can women who can't cook make a good wife?

I wonder why the best chefs in the world are men? do they all have wives who can't cook?

Criteria:- Iman, Taqwa, Patience, And...

though today a man can do every job a woman can he can't be a good 'mother' to children- therefore a woman should also have the ability to bring up righteous children. Afterall they say the mothers lap is the childs first madressah...

the Prophet (pbuh) was heard to be praising the women of Quraish ''“...because they are the kindest to their children while they are infants and because they keep a careful watch over the belongings of their husbands''

The Prophet(pbuh) told Umar (r.a): “Shall I not inform you about the best treasure a man can hoard? It is a virtuous wife who pleases him whenever he looks towards her, and who guards herself when he is absent from her.”

''Among my followers the best of men are those who are best to their wives, and the best of women are those who are best to their husbands. To each of such women is set down a reward equivalent to the reward of a thousand martyrs. Among my followers, again, the best of women are those who assist their husbands in their work, and love them dearly for everything, save what is a transgression of Allah’s laws''

who ever you are , cant you cook at all and be willing to help her with cooking. There is more to life then cooking . I know I did cook but since I got older I forget somethimes that he food is on and it burns that mean that i would not make a goood wife? If a man cant cook then he isn't a good husband and should be an insult for the family men or no different then women they can become very good cooks also . You could be a wonderful husband if you learned how to cook.

Not everyone has the same talents and abilities. Perhaps she can not cook well but can sew, or cleans well or is good at gardening, is an excellent mother and guide for the children, or she may excel at business...insha'Allah.

Insha'Allah, I can cook, clean, do yard work and help to raise children but I have no head for buisness in a capitalist system (I would give everything away to those who needed and we would end up broke...) so perhaps we would compliment one another and therefore achieve balance. Alhumdulillah!

Being a good person and a devout Muslim who practice charity towards all makes one a good wife/mother, a good father/husband, a son or daughter and a good Muslims. Alhumdulillah!

Is in the women in Islam (and the world) only destined for cooking and should be judged on the basis of her cooking? Dude, this is just old cultural custom thing when old women went to the girls house to pick a girl for their son (arrange marriage) and the first thing they ask is how good a cook she is and the next one is she a doctor or does she have long black hair and all.. OLD THING, puranay khayalat!

A good wife is a one who is obedient and supportive to her husband, raises her children/family will gr8 responsibility so that they may stand firmly in the world as well as the hearafter and she can also exercise her own free (Job etc)

i cannot believe that you asked this question yes of course a woman can be a good wife without knowing how to cook you could always learn to cook, i do most of the cooking in my house. A good wife is someone who you love and who loves you and someone who you want to share your life with. If she earns more money than you do then obviously you will be doing the househusband role won't you?

It depends on what you expect from a wife. If you expect her to cook, clean and treat you like your mother does, then please don't look for a modern girl. I agree with what I heard in the animated movie 'Ratatouille' : "Anyone can cook". But can anyone be patient, kind, have a sense of humor, be excellent in bed, be a good mother and forgive your own shortcomings as a man? I'm blessed to have a husband who loves me with or without the gourmet meals I can prepare.

The best wives are the wives of the Prophet (saws). Do you know what they used to cook/eat ? Alhamdulillah for those for whom cooking/eating is not a high priority in life. So often people go so far in how/what they eat, whereas Allah swt mentioned regarding the Kuffar :

ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

15:3. Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!

There's no such thing as a woman who can't cook. It's either they hate cooking and are too lazy to even try or can't follow directions.

Usually recipies break every step down. A person who can't cook just doesn't want to cook.

Bros.let me tell you.it is not the duty of a wife to cook for husbands.if she cooks,its out of good will.It is the duty of a muslim husband to provide cooked meals to his wife children and family.If a wife cooks for the family she is doing a great favor to you.

a woman whos a good cook makes a good chef :) i would never marry a guy who judges me by how good i am at cooking and doing the housework...:P yes, in Islam its the husbands responsibility to provide his wife and kids wid ''Cooked food''...thats another thing that makes Islam special!!!:)
