What should i do about college?

I havent had the most stable parenting (parents keep me in my room all day they are overprotective to the max). Im 18 and never drank or been out passed 11:30 or slept by a friend. I developed depression and anxiety since i was 13 and this summer was rushed to the clinic twice in one day because of my anxiety - shallow breathing, SEVERE crampin in muscles - worse cuz i was in a foreign country on an exchange. Therefore i dont think im quite ready to go off to college and be on my own until i get my life in order and i find myself because i dont know what im going to be exposed to in a university... I was thinking about going to a local college for a year... is this wrong??? My parents are pissedd....
