How would you deal with a persistent trapped nerve in the back which won't snap back?

I am stuck at home feeling sorry for myself with flu at present, however the other day, I also managed to trap a nerve in my back which normally would just snap back into place. It's now been three days though since this happened and it's not going.

I can barely walk and am in a lot of pain. I can't sit/stand in any position for very long before I have to move. I am also getting quite nasty twinges in my spine when I am walking. Any suggestions for dislodging this (sensible ones!)?

Persistent trapped nerve? If you had a persistent trapped nerve, by now you would be paralyzed, think about it. Nerves are like electrical wire, they have a sheath and if you damage the sheath, you expose the nerve. If you damage the nerve, well unplug and electrical plug and see what happens? The electrical item will die. Flu involves a cough and by coughing you can throw the back muscles into spasm. If the muscles then get stuck in a spasm, ouch. The chances are you have pulled, torn, or have a muscle problem, so you will need to rest, apply heat, perhaps take a shower and allow the water to beat of the painful part.

This is a tricky question. Unless you did something to actually damage a vertebra or disk, I'm thinking a chirorpractor is your best option. I've used them off and on for 40 years now. Almost had to go back again just within the past couple of weeks.

They don't work for everyone, but they should be your first option I would think. Surgery will be your last option.

You might try Craigslist for that device where you lie on your back, and it places your legs up in the air and moves them around.

I can help you out on this one Enigma dear. The next time you get a call from a telemarketer ask them for their work email address, fax number or postal address. When you have that let me know and I'll send them a photo of me completely naked. They'll go blind or insane - either way they won't be annoying you again darling.

A nice f*ck. And no, I'm not joking, neither I'm being a troll. A nice f*ck will always make you forget the pain and you'd actually realize you feel much better.

And ice. But I guess you've already tried that.
