Mastercard has been down all day, I heard it were hackers...?
Im REALLY concerned that private data could have leaked through and my account information is at risk, should I be worried?

You probably don't need to worry. This was primarily a DDoS attack in retaliation for Mastercard's decision to cutoff user's ability to make donations to wikileaks.

No you shouldn't have to be worried. The hackers are sending a DDoS to MasterCard. DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service. That is basically one hacker running a client on his computer, and remotely "hijacks" other computers. Then he controls all the computers to send a request to the MasterCard servers. The severs and other hardware can only handle so many requests at a time. By overloading the number of requests it can handle, it puts the servers to a halt, because the servers can't keep up. Therefore, you can't access the website. Hope this heps a bit!!!

It was hackers protesting the arrest of that wikileaks guy. It affected the approval computers. But they brought the data computers down too just as a precaution.
