I have recently bought a toadstool coral?

and at first the polyps on it were out and it looked ok but today i noticed they are all in, is this normal or is there something wrong with it?? please help

    For reasons that aren't understood, even perfectly healthy toadstools in a good environment occassionally draw in all of their polyps. They'll eventually come back out. It isn't a cause for concern.

    As long as they are coming out some at times then it is fine for now. Could take a week or so for the coral to really start expanding it's polyps. Untill the coral is well happy in the tank, just don't make much of any changes around it.

    It's not uncommon for any type of coral to retract their polyps when acclimating to a new environment. Even when moving between 2 well established tanks, there's several parameters that change from tank to tank: lighting, ph, salinity, alk, calcuim, as well as nitrates and phosphates, etc.. and these can stress a coral when put in a new tank. As long as your parameters are decent and you properly acclimated them, they should be fine in a few days.
