which wrestler past/present was the largest surprise as becoming a real superstar?
I've watched pro wrestling for 25 yrs and I've never seen a level of improvement like The Miz. This guy went from a release candidate to being a real attraction and future WWE champion (legitimate). When he was drafted to raw, I thought he was screwed, but no, wow.....what a transformation.
Does anyone else see another as being a more unlikely possible champ in wrestling history?

Pook- yes! HHH has coome a long way from Terror Risen(wcw) n his goofy WWE gimmick, but he had help from the powers to be unlike the MiZ. F'n the bosses daughter will get you some championships if you're well liked
Mick foley? He is what he is a garbage wrestler with some skillz that is intelligent and writes good books

I am with NotShy. Mick Foley. For those that are hardcore fans, you knew the guy's work, but for most everyone else, up until the Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker in 1998, could of easily been an afterthought at best, and scoffed at as a sniveling and whiny Mankind at worst. After that match with Taker, he just soared to heights that Mick only dreamed of, and just became beloved.

Mankind. Who would care for a raggedy homeless looking man that DOESN'T have an athletic body and gets beat up all the time? The answer are all his countless fans. When he finally won the big one for the first time, WWE had their biggest rating for the quarter-hour in history up to that point.

when wade barrett won NXT noone cared but now he draws the most heat in wwe
if u look at john cena's debut match against kurt angle he looked like a default wrestler someone would make in a wrestling game, but now he is quite possibly the most famous wrestler there is
jeff hardy is currently one of the most talked about in the wrestling industry atm, with his heel turn and all and new gimmick

Triple H, I never took his Hunter Hearst Helmsley gimmick seriously, I would think he was going to be another jobber or a low-carder.
