What would you do if somebody ran over your dog on purpose?
What would you do if somebody ran over your dog with a wheelchair?
MY eldest (18) was walking the dog for his afternoon jaunt and this lady zoomed by in her wheelchair , running over his right front paw... He was limping so off to the vet we went, and she broke 2 small bones in his paw.
Needless to say, my daughter asked her what her problem was and the lady was like it wasnt my fault your dog is HUGE.
So what is it with some people who think their motorized wheelchair gives them the right to run down pedestrians or animals?
What would you do?
needless to say - my daughter almost 'clocked the woman"

I would report the person to the police to be possibly charged with causing criminal damage to property {which a dog is in the eyes of the law} & animal cruelty.
In addition I would take photographs of the scene at the time the incident occurred on my phone, including any visible injuries the dog sustained & tell the person that they would be expected to pay for all related veterinary costs.
A motorized wheelchair is fantastic way for people with restricted mobility to gain freedom & a degree of independence, but with the freedom is an obligation to use a wheelchair/mobility scooter with consideration for other people & dogs, & drive/push responsibly.
Your daughter was not at fault, & the wheelchair user should have politely asked for more room if the path/sidewalk was too narrow to pass the dogs. I hope the person responsible for your dog's injuries pays for the costs of treating your dog, & he quickly recovers from his injury.

As someone who tends to let their temper get the better of them I would probably have pulled my tiny pen knife (actually a carton opener on my keyring) and stuck her tires. Lets see her try to run my dog down then. I threw a shoe at a man in a motorised wheelchair once after he knocked over the little girl I was babysitting (age 6) and when she took too long getting up because she had cut her knee he told her to get out of his way and ran into her again. I grabbed a shoe off of a display and slammed it into his face before throwing the other one at him and shouting every name under the sun at him. I was "escorted" from the store.
Call the police and tell them she is a danger to animals and young children and refuses to be reasoned with. Also send her the vet bill, she is legally liable for it.

Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean.......I would report and sue the person for vet costs.
Today I was in Town and just happened to look up and see this person in a motorised wheelchair zooming across the square...market day s lots of people about, who were all jumping out of the way......I couldn't believe it........eyes forward and no concern about what she was doing. When I ot home I phoned the council to complain about it as the Town centre is 'car free' and even kids on bikes/skateboard are stopped.....I was told she had been reported several times and ad already been informed to obey the rules...speed at walking pace only. I am told they are going to monitor her......and ban if found to be breaking the rules again

I agree with the first answer, I would definitely report that to police to see what they could do about it. Running over a dog on purpose is NOT cool. That's a horrible thing to do, why would somebody want to do that for? Regardless if the dog is big or small, she needs to watch where she is going. Maybe your dog was in the way? I don't know the whole story but she should of watched out and been more careful.
If that was me, I would of been VERY angry.

i would trow her out her wheelchair and take the wheel chair away so she cud not get back in and jus leave her there rolling around on the floor and laugh. oh and stamp on her foot and brake two bones jus like she did to ur dog :)

I would prob file a police report and then make her pay the bill. She could of asked her to politely move over so she could pass. That to me is a form of animal cruelty. If she does not pay take her *** to small claims court.

I think that you should report this person to the Police. I think its under 'Intentional bodily harm'. She could be fined or ordered to pay compensation for your dogs injuries. If she said anything you could use that as a statement against her. Good luck

I'd of been with your daughter n probably of knocked her out of her chair. And then stamped on her foot just to make sure. In fact I'm in a foul mood tonight, can u do a citizens arrest for dangerous driving?

You could try filing a police report and asking for her to pay the bill but honestly unless you have proof that it was done purposefully and negligently there's probably not much more that can be done past that point unfortunetly. :/

Call the police and make her pay for the bill. I woulda clocked her too.
