Do you need cardboard or other material for a rats cage?
I just got a new rat cage, and the second floor has metal bars rather than a plastic floor. Do I need to cover the bars with material or cardboard or can I just leave it.
P.S. the bottom floor is plastic.

You don't need to cover them if the cage is meant to house rats. If you put cardboard in the cage, the rat will just chew it up and eat it. I hope I helped, good luck! :)

Well, my rats were fine, but i do know some people that tie rags onto them, but it doesnt seem to matter
