Feeding new adopted dog?

your dog will eat eventually, he's just not hungry right now because of the change of scenery. be careful making his food more flavorful because then you may make it worse, then he may not eat the food unless you have the additive in it, whether it be rice or whatever. but he is just stressed. huskies are like that give him time.

he is probably stressed from the change, and when dogs are stressed or dont feel good they wont eat. Mix in some raw egg or some cooked hamburg, they will like that and eat. Or you can buy canned wet dog food and mix that in. If its been a whole week and he still wont eat ANYTHING then take him to the vet there could be a reason behind it like an illness of some sort.

Don't give the dog milk as the other person suggested- milk will give dogs diarrhea.

To encourage him to eat, you might try a product that is made by Purina (I think). It's a gravy that you pour on the dog's food. It's sold in a bottle that looks like a salad dressing bottle, and it's usually in the aisle with the pet food. Wal-Mart sometimes has it, but if the don't most pet stores should. It comes in beef flavor and chicken flavor- maybe a couple of others too.

You need to find a high quality food, Blue, Taste of the Wild, Evo, Innova, Merrick. Huskies are very picky eaters. You also just got him so give him some time. Leave the food down for 15 minutes and then pick it up every time you feed him. He'll learn that he needs to eat when his food is given.

The Dog Food Then Add Milk Or (Water) And Warm It Up Where Its Warm! It Has Always Worked For Me, And My Dog Is Very Healthy!

the food probably isn't the problem.

He'll 'settle in'. Give him affection, attention, and time.
