Do you have an artistic hobby?
This is a research for my Business Studies classes...
1) Do you have a hobby that is somehow artistic or creative? (Anything connected to music, art, dance, film etc.)
2) Do you spend as much time on your hobby as you would want to?
3) If you could, would you turn your hobby into a profession? What stops you?
OK, thanks guys!
*Thanks for the great answers so far, guys! Could those of you that don't have a hobby also answer, though, because I need a percentage of those who actually do... Thanks!:)

1. I paint and play the piano.
2. I would want to spend more time painting, but I've been taking piano lessons for a while now, and would like to take some painting lessons. But I also have school to worry about...
3. I would defiantly want to make a profession out of playing the piano. Maybe not painting, because I don't have the patience to paint huge, beautiful paintings. And I'm in NJHS at school, and we have a bunch of meetings too. Plus in October, the MEAP testing starts in school. And I do plan on going to college.

I can see your more of a 3D material artist but why not try drawing or painting? There are lots of things to choose from to draw and paint and it will help in all aspects of any artistic direction you go. For drawing its really cheap, get a a3 sketchbook for around £5 and pencils are 20-50p each and that should last for a bit. Then study the subject, my subject is faces and figures so ive been studing anatomy like bones and muscles to get a better understanding of my subject. Anyway just a suggestion and good luck with whatever you do :)

My number one is stained glass. Anything from room dividing panels to candle holders.
Not as much as I'd like, but that's due to running out of ideas and a place for it.
I tried. I've sold a lot of pieces over the years, but in my experience glass is far too expensive in materials and labor to get your money out of it. People in general aren't willing to pay what it's worth. Just the cost of materials for a window surprises most, and that's before you put in the 50 to 60 hours it can take to make a detailed piece, sometimes longer. The only people I've known that have been successful at it (meaning you can live on the profit you make) are the ones who also sold the materials at retail prices.

1) Yes, I play guitar and sing with it.
2) Yes, I play a little almost every day.
3) Myeah maybe, but it's a really risky business, I'd rather get a college degree and a job first and then we'll see what can happen.

I have a little hobby, not terribly time consuming. I like to draw sketches of things, like scenes or dragons or trees etcetera... I spend maybe about 1-2 hours a week just sketching.
I don't think I'd become a professional, I'm not very good <_<

1) Yes. I like to sing and dance.
2) No. I'm busy with school.
3) Yes. What stops me is the music industry in America. I would like to be an idol in Japan, but there's no chance of me going there in my teenage years.

Yeah, I play guitar among many other musical instruments
I don't play professionally because I was in several bands before and I hated touring plus I hated playing the songs so often I got sick of them and which would make me forget that thrill and spark the songs had when I first wrote them.
