Baby not eating 7 months?

My daughter seems to be going off her food. She is 7 1/2 months and until 2 weeks ago was eating:

7am 7fl oz milk

8:30 breakfast

12:30 7 fl oz milk

1pm Lunch (finger food)

4pm Dinner

7pm 7 fl oz milk

Now She will drink 3fl oz at 7am and 12:30 and completely refuses breakfast all together. She will have lunch but isn't eating anywhere near what she was eating, and at dinner she will refuse and cry, eventually I will get a spoonful in, once she has the taste she will eat the rest. At 7pm she will have maybe 4 fl oz of her milk.

Why has she stopped eating so much, and why have mealtimes become such a struggle, so confused, any ideas?

Hi. Firstly, it would be a good idea to get her a check up at the Doctors, to make sure she is not unwell at all.

Sometimes, they do go through phases and she is still young.

Just increase her milk at the moment and don't worry about the solids so much.

She'l let you know when she is hungry.

It's possible she is teething. so if you address that, she may want to eat more.

Teething granules are good or some teething gel and even a paracetamol syrup if she is in pain.

The worst thing you can do is make meal times a battle ground.

And if you are getting stressed about it, she will pick up on that straight away.

Try some finger foods, that you just leave on her highchair tray. And she might try them.

You could also, try a sippy cup.

    Just don't try forcing her.

Be relaxed and play games and if her gums are not hurting, she may try something.

Also, give her a bowl and spoon to play with so she can put the spoon in her mouth herself, if she wants to.

Hey my girl is going through that now. We were so confused.

    She is 8.5 month.

After a few days of this she broke out into a high fever (104.9F or 40.5C) turns out she has ear/ throat infection.

Its been a week almost (since diagnosis) and she is almost back to normal. Still not drinking as much at all. And not keen on breakfast, but eating lunch and dinner no worries, and drinking water. Her fever has gone and she seems less grumpy.

It wouldnt hurt to get the Dr to rule out infection of ears/ throats.

Also teething doesnt help wiith anything. it could also be a problem.

She may be cutting teeth and her gums are sore or she may have other issues. Whenever my girls made a drastic change in their habits I always called the pediatritian to double check the situation with the doctor. If she isn't on the breast milk I'd also check to see if she should be getting more baby food now. She's old enough for baby foods. My girls were completely on table food ground fine or mashed by the time they were 8 months old. I had them on baby cereals by 4 months and fruits by 5 months and veggies and meats by 6 months. Check with the pediatritian about her eating habits and her not eating habits.

Dont worry my youngest did the exact same thing, just seemed to go off her food all together and seem so disinterested. I stressed so much over it but eventually when she wanted to she started eating again! I just kept offering and offering. And now shes 21 months and doesnt stop eating!
