Which is the more "secure" way to order products you want to buy?

on the other note: if company you are buying from will start asking SSN, and other personal infor over the phone it should raise RED ALARM for you.

Usually over the phone, but since most security breaches are done at the company, as long as they are storing your number, your data is not as safe as if they threw it away.

One thing you can do, depending on your bank, is get a "temporary credit card number" which they will give you for 1 transaction and then it is over. Using this method gives no threat to you financially.

Well you personally enter your info into the website ordering system, if the order page URL starts with https:// that's (SSL) a secure site/page for ordering. Your Info will be encrypted, and No One else should easily get at your info.

Plus you may even be able to choose not let the site to keep - store your credit card info their system. Helping to keep your credit card even safer.

When we give our credit card info to any person by phone we have to trust that they are not also collecting the info on the slide any way too. Remember when using a major credit card they offer us fraud protection.

So can we really go wrong using our credit card to order from a secure web site order page or from a person by phone? Well we can be defrauded either way. So we MUST always check your monthly statements.
